Sales · Host Camp + Funkit
Lead Setter & Appointment Setter
Reports to the Sales Director
- Fully remote
- Full-time position
- 1–3 years in sales
- Path to closer
Your job is simple, but important: start conversations, work out what a prospect actually needs, decide whether we can help, and get the qualified ones onto a closer's calendar.
Two brands, one pipeline
This role supports two fast-growing businesses in the short-term rental space.
Host Camp, founded by Rob Abasolo (Robuilt) and Kai Andrew, helps short-term rental investors start, optimize, and scale their portfolios through education, community, coaching, and hands-on support.
Funkit Interiors is a short-term rental design firm specializing in memorable, high-performing properties. We work with Airbnb owners and real estate investors to turn ordinary spaces into stays that stand out, photograph beautifully, and drive revenue.
Together the two brands serve thousands of STR owners and aspiring investors. We're looking for a motivated, sales-minded setter to connect the right people with the right offer.
The role
You'll be one of the first points of contact for prospective Host Camp members, coaching clients, and Funkit design clients, working inbound and outbound leads through Instagram DMs, email, text, phone, social media, and our CRM.
Some conversations will be with someone trying to buy their first Airbnb. Others will be with an experienced investor looking to scale. And some will be property owners looking to completely redesign or launch their next STR. You should be comfortable learning multiple offers, asking good questions, and moving conversations toward the appropriate next step.
For someone who performs well, this role has a clear path toward becoming a full-time closer within our sales organization.
What you'll do
- Qualify leads. Engage prospective Host Camp and Funkit customers, understand their goals, and determine whether they're a good fit for our programs or services.
- Book qualified calls. Move strong prospects onto the calendars of our sales closers and design consultation team.
- DM and social engagement. Work leads coming through Rob's social channels, Instagram DMs, YouTube comments, and other platforms.
- Outbound follow-up. Reach out proactively to warm leads by phone, email, text, and social to keep opportunities moving.
- Inbound lead management. Respond quickly to incoming inquiries, answer the basic questions, and guide prospects to the right next step.
- CRM and pipeline management. Keep clean notes, update lead stages, track follow-ups, and make sure no qualified opportunity falls through the cracks.
- Learn our offers. Build a real understanding of Host Camp's education and coaching products and Funkit's design services, so you can tell which one fits a given prospect.
- Improve the process. Pay attention to objections, common questions, lead quality, and conversion patterns, and tell us what you're seeing.
Who you are
- 1–3 years of sales experience in appointment setting, lead generation, inside sales, business development, or another sales-focused role.
- Comfortable starting conversations. Sending the first DM, picking up the phone, or following up with someone who went quiet are all fine by you.
- A strong communicator. You build rapport quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and sound like a person rather than a script.
- Sales-minded. The job isn't to book as many calls as possible — it's to book qualified calls with a real chance of closing.
- Persistent without being pushy. You'll follow up several times and know how to keep a conversation alive without annoying the prospect.
- Highly organized. You can hold dozens of conversations and follow-ups without losing track of where anyone sits in the pipeline.
- Coachable and growth-minded. You want feedback, want to get better, and want to grow into a closing role.
- Interested in real estate and STRs. Airbnb, real estate investing, hospitality, interior design, or STR experience is a major plus — you don't need to be an expert on day one.
- A self-starter. This is remote, so we need someone who takes ownership, follows through, and doesn't need chasing.
Who this role is great for
This suits someone who already has a foundation in sales but wants to take the next step. Maybe you've spent the last year or two setting appointments, working inbound leads, doing SDR work, or selling over the phone — and now you want to get closer to the revenue side of the business.
We'll give you the leads, offers, training, and systems. You bring the energy, follow-up, curiosity, and hunger to get better.
What we offer
- Clear career growth. Strong performers get the opportunity to develop into a high-ticket closing role.
- Two growing brands. Exposure to education, real estate, hospitality, design, and high-ticket service sales.
- Hands-on sales training. Our sales process, offers, objection handling, qualification framework, and closing philosophy.
- Direct access to the team. You'll work alongside people deeply embedded in the short-term rental and real estate industries.
- Performance upside. Compensation is structured to reward setters who consistently generate qualified opportunities and revenue.
- Remote flexibility. Work from anywhere as part of a fast-moving sales organization.
The logistics
- Full-time and ongoing, reporting to the Sales Director. This is not one of our seasonal contracts.
- Fully remote, with availability aligned to U.S. Central Time — prospects call and reply on U.S. hours.
- Fluent English required. Spanish is a plus.
- Stable internet, a reliable phone setup, and a computer that can run a CRM and a dozen browser tabs without complaint.

Apply
One form covers every role across our brands, so a couple of the fields need to be set correctly for your application to reach the right place.
- Remote Positions → Sales
- Status → Full-Time
The form is shared with our design hiring, so please write “Appointment Setter — Host Camp” in the free-text question about why you're interested. That's how we route it to the sales team.
Have these ready before you start: your resume as a PDF, and a 1–2 minute video introduction. The form lists the five questions to answer in the video — and for this role it matters more than usual, since talking to strangers is the job. Where the form asks for a portfolio, send anything that shows your sales work: call recordings, DM threads you're proud of, or a short note on the numbers you've hit.
